- How does 3M paint protection film clear and matte compare to other paint protection films on the market?
Outstanding clarity - Scotchgard paint protection film pro series clear has low orange peel, making it one of the clearest paint protection films and virtually invisible, even on white cars. Our matte paint protection film offers a deep satin finish to match most OEM matte paint systems or turn your clear paint into a matte finish.

- Where can I put clear paint protection film on my car?
Clear bra can be professionally installed anywhere you want to protect your car finish from scratches, chips, stains and other damaging elements. Scotchgard paint protection film pro series protects:

- Can I install 3M clear paint protection film myself?
3M strongly recommends having a 3M clear bra installer apply Scotchgard paint protection film to your car. Clear bra installers have the installation training and experience to ensure the highest quality fit to your car. The warranty is valid only if the clear paint protection film is installed by a 3M paint protection installer.
- What does self-healing paint protection film entail?
The 3M comprehensive warranty for Scotchgard paint protection film pro series is valid 10 years from the date of installation and covers against defects, yellowing, bubbling and cracking. Click here for additional clear bra warranty details.
- Can Paint Protection Film be applied over a vehicle that has had the paint touched up?
We recommend that any repainted surfaces on your vehicle be professionally painted and fully cured before applying paint protection film. If you have touched up scratches or chips with a tube of "touch-up" paint and then apply paint protection film over it, the film will protect that area until it is removed. If the paint protection film is removed, it is possible that the area around the non-professional touch-up paint could peel off.
- Will the paint smear if Paint Protection Film is applied over a newly painted vehicle?
The paint on a newly painted vehicle must be cured according to manufacturer's recommendations. Your body shop should be able to provide you with this information.
- Can I use wax over Paint Protection Film?
Yes. When waxing the vehicle, some wax may build up along the film edges. This can easily be removed with a dry soft cloth, such as a high quality micro-fiber cloth. Do not use any waxes containing dyes or waxes that are not recommended for urethanes. Abrasive polishes and/or rubbing compounds are not to be used.
- Is clear or matte paint protection film removable?
Yes. Paint protection film is intended to be permanent, but it can be removed without damage to your car's finish. 3M recommends that you visit a 3M paint protection film installer for removal.
- If Paint Protection Film is removed from the vehicle, can it be re-used?
Once the film has been applied and set, the adhesive will not stick a second time.
